Chastity Breeding, our Practice Manager, has been a vital member of the AVH staff since 1994. Her dedication to the practice, the animals we care for and their humans, is evident as soon as you meet her. She says the best part of her job is how she is able to help an animal feel at ease and helping them get the care they need. Chastity says that AVH is not just a place to work- it is home and family. We are glad she feels the same way we do and is a part of it all.
Pam Cash has lived in Amherst County and the local area all her life. Her interest in animals has been present throughout her life. degree and received additional training in the art of dog grooming. Pam hold a vet tech position, but often finds time to love and give lots of attention to your pets in our boarding facility because she really loves all the animals in our care. When not at work, Pam likes to spend time with her husband, her three children, her grandchildren, her dogs and her many friends.
Debra Deacon joined our staff in 2007. A graduate of EC Glass and with a cosmetology degree, she loves her job in our reception area because she loves both animals and people. She gets to combine both of these loves by helping our clients and their pets.
Rebecca Rinker holds a position as a veterinary technician. She has always enjoyed the company of animals, including training, rescuing and rehabilitation. She currently has 4 guinea pigs, 2 snakes, 6 turtles, 1 cockatiel, 4 cats, 7 dogs and 3 horses. She wins the award for most animal diversity of our staff right now!
Michelle Vest began working at AVH in 2005. Michelle states, “I feel really good that I was able to help an animal or an owner by loving that animal. There is nothing like a good, old sloppy dog kiss. I am all about the animal-whether it is holding the paw of a sick animal, bathing a dirty dog, or just playing with the dogs in a run. What a blessing!”
Rachael Wade has been a valuable member of the Amherst Veterinary Hospital team for ten years. She is the senior Technician and has a variety of responsibilities. Rachael says "It is hard to pick one thing I love about my job, when there are so many to choose from!" She finds that she has a special bond with the sick animals in our care, and believes that they appreciate all the kindness they are given. Rachael gets a great sense of satisfaction when the animal recovers and is reunited with their family.
Kim Wise has lived in Amherst County for her entire life, and recently received certification as a Veterinary Technician. Kim's caring and attention to details of animals are a wonderful asset to Amherst Veterinary Hospital.
